Hoku was founded in Hawaii in 2001 as a clean energy start-up focused on hydrogen fuel cells. After securing U.S. and International patents for its fuel cell membrane technology, Hoku completed an initial public offering on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 2005 and began diversifying its business.

Now, with a $390 million polysilicon production facility nearing completion in Idaho and more than $1.8 billion in off-take contracts signed with leading international PV manufacturers, Hoku is a diversified clean energy provider with a strong global network of partners.
